Think Art: Californians Invited to Create & Choose the
2005 State Fair Poster

First-Ever Poster Contest Open from February 1 – March 31, 2005; Students and Educators Encouraged to Participate.

SACRAMENTO, CA (January 31, 2005) – For the first time ever, the California State Fair is giving Californians the opportunity to create and choose the official 2005 State Fair Poster. The State Fair today announced that it will be accepting poster submissions from February 1 – March 31, 2005. Any Californian aged 5 and older is invited to send in original artwork for consideration. Individuals and groups are encouraged to submit an entry and people of all artistic levels and styles are welcome.  (more)

Scholarships Awarded in 2005 Will Total More than $50,000
Volunteer Organization Now Accepting Applications from Calif. Students

SACRAMENTO, CA (January 13, 2005) -- In a move that demonstrates their ongoing commitment to fostering youth participation in the areas of agriculture, art, education and economics, the Friends of the California State Fair today announced that their 2005 Scholarship Program will offer more than $50,000 to California students – nearly double the scholarship amount from 2004. The group is now accepting applications for their Scholarship Program for the 2005-2006 academic year. College students and graduating high school students currently attending California institutions are eligible and must apply by March 25, 2005. State Fair Expands Schedule to 22 Days

Everyone’s Invited to the State Fair’s ‘Beach Party’ in 2005

SACRAMENTO, CA (December 9, 2004) - California residents will now have four additional days to experience everything the California State Fair has to offer.  In a move that represents a growing trend in the Fair industry, the California Exposition & State Fair today announced it will be expanding its Fair operating schedule to a 22-day format, beginning in August 1205.  (more
